Dr. Michael Lam, MD

Dr. Michael Lam is a Board Certified Anesthesiologist.

Dr. Lam completed his medical internship and anesthesia residency at Stanford University in 1980. A graduate of Tulane Medical School in 1977, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Occidental College in Los Angeles in 1973.

Immediately following his Anesthesiology residency, Dr. Lam continued on at Stanford University by joining the clinical faculty there from 1980 to 1987. He also was on staff at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation from 1985-1986. In 1987, Dr. Lam was recruited to Pomona Valley Medical Center in southern California to develop an immediately successful cardiac surgery program. In 1993, Dr. Lam returned to the northern California bay area to practice at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, where was a very active member of the medical staff. He served as the Chairman of the Anesthesia Department in 1995 and as the Chairman of the Operating Room Committee from 1999-2004.

Dr. Lam now primarily practices out of Washington Hospital in Fremont, but also holds staff privileges at El Camino Hospital, Palo Alto Surgery Center, and El Camino Surgery Center. Dr. Lam is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the California Society of Anesthesiologists, the Santa Clara County Medical Association, and the American Medical Association.

Among his other accomplishments and interests, Dr. Lam is an avid pilot and also black belted in the martial arts.
